Nicole Kleger and Simona Fehlmann - sallea
Add the third dimension to cells.
Meat, drugs, or implants - our society is strongly dependent on conventional livestock breeding to grow animal-based protein, to test new drugs or to use animal components to repair parts of the human body. This has both ecological and ethical consequences. sallea's novel, highly porous, three-dimensional structures, so-called scaffolds, made from biomaterials allow the cultivation of (muscle) tissue such as meat in the laboratory. sallea is a start-up from ETH Zurich where the novel process to produce scaffolds from a variety of material with open, controlled porosity was developed. If you are interested in trying our scaffolds, do not hesitate to reach out to us.
